Hello, I'm
LovesMacs (talk) 00:00, 18 November 2008 (UTC). I know it's a silly name but there's a story behind that. After many attempts to find a name reflecting my interests that wasn't already taken, I chose this one because I enjoy
Macintosh computers. I actually enjoy other things even more, such as
reading,
photography,
music, and
traveling. I will read almost anything, but I especially like
history,
religion,
mythology, and
literature in general.
I am currently reading the novel Children of the Black Sabbath by
Anne Hébert, in order to write about it here at English Wikipedia. I may well write about it over at French Wikipedia too because the
article over there is not very developed.
The marabou stork (Leptoptilos crumenifer) is a wading
bird in the
stork family, Ciconiidae, native to
sub-Saharan Africa. It is a large bird, with individuals reaching a height of 152 centimetres (4.99 feet) and a weight of 9 kilograms (20 lb), and has the largest
wingspan of any land bird, with an average of 2.6 metres (8.5 ft) and some recorded examples of up to 3.2 metres (10 ft). The marabou stork breeds in Africa south of the Sahara. In East Africa, the birds interact with humans and breed in urban areas. In southern African countries, the birds breed mainly in less populated areas. This marabou stork in flight was photographed in the town of
Batu, by
Lake Ziway, Ethiopia.
Broke news about the two original people questioned
1
Broke news about arrested arson suspect
Raymond Lee Oyler both when he was regarded as "a person of interest"
2 and when he was officially charged (including court date and location)
3
Added the information about the funeral service that will be held for the five fallen fire fighters
4
Contributed to the first seven sections of article in its preliminary stages (The Theory, Words (Sound Reflexes), Criticism, DVD, About Priscilla Dunstan, See also, and External Links)

Thekla (820s or 830s – after 870) was a princess of the
Amorian dynasty of the
Byzantine Empire. The eldest of seven children of the emperor
Theophilos and empress
Theodora, she was proclaimed augusta (an imperial title) in the late 830s. After her father's death in 842, her mother became
regent for her younger brother
Michael III, and Thekla was associated with the regime as a co-empress alongside Theodora and Michael. Thekla was deposed by Michael, possibly alongside her mother, in 856 and consigned to a
convent in
Constantinople. In one narrative, accepted by some
Byzantinists and rejected by others, she became the mistress of Michael's friend and co-emperor
Basil I, but was neglected after Basil murdered Michael in 867 and took power as the sole emperor. In this narrative, she took another lover, was discovered, and fell out of favor, then was beaten and had her property confiscated. (Full article...)
PersianPoetGal here, pleasure to make your acquaintance. I'm a half
Persian (
Iranian) female born and raised in great sunny
California! I enjoy many things such as
poetry (obvious of course),
reading,
writing,
history, playing
video games,
filmmaking, light
programming, and just making a person's day better :). I used to be active at the Windows Movie Maker Forums but now I have sort of semi-retired due to being crammed with my studies. I also contributed to "The Persian Page", a page devoted to implementing custom effects and transitions into Windows Movie Maker 2 using
xml which is hosted and now fully edited by "PapaJohn" Buechler. I am an
administrator (see my Request for Adminship) on the English Wikipedia and I voluntarily patrol the
"Recent Changes Page". While on patrol I keep on the lookout to make sure articles are free of
vandalism and abide by the
Wikipedia Golden Rules :P. I also help create
Wikipedia Ads for different WikiProjects, see this
page for details. Believe it or not I start new articles and edit pre-existing ones every now and then! So please feel free to mercilessly
any of my Wiki-Contributions just the same. I honestly feel there is always someone who can add a little extra ;). However, those not-so-nice enough to
vandalize my page or anyone else's for that matter, it will not do you any
good. Thanks for reading a little bit about me :D!
This spoof of a well known search engine was inspired by
Swatjester's (originally
Gurch's) spoof of a well known social networking site. It is important to remember however that Wikipedia is neither :P.
