Agreed that all national politicians are inherently notable. References need to be provided to verify they are/were an elected official & they attended the school.
Academia
Agreed that chancellors and vice-chancellors are inherently notable. References as per above.
I have included the names of some academics below, whom can be included per Notability criteria and
WP:ACADEMIC.

I'm struggling to see which criteria of
WP:NACADEMIC any of the academics listed below comply with. Noting that the position of
Dean does not grant automatic notability. I presume that there is a reference for
David Kalupahana than confirms he attended the school?

Dean of a major faculty (engineering, medical, science etc.) is an highly esteemed position in an university in Sri Lanka and many other places around the world, unlike the positions such as department heads or sectional heads. Therefore I believe deans satisfies number 05 criteria of WP:ACADEMIC. I have added a reference that confirms David Kalupahana attnded Mahinda College in his WP page. Today I will also add some more names and some references for discussion.
LahiruGtalk 07:23, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
WP:NACADEMIC specifically states : "Lesser administrative posts (provost, dean, department chair, etc.) are generally not sufficient to qualify under Criterion 6 alone." I think that the guidelines are pretty clear that simply being a Dean doesn't constitute automatic notability. You really need to provide some additional justification to establish notability.

Though it states that "lesser administrative posts (provost, dean, department chair, etc.) are generally not sufficient to qualify under Criterion 6 alone", it also states that "although exceptions are possible on a case-by-case basis (e.g., being a Provost of a major university may sometimes qualify)". In that sense deans of leading faculties can be included considering a case-by-case basis .
LahiruGtalk 08:06, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
If that's all that you are going to rely on - it's highly unlikely it will survive an AfD. A provost is the equivalent of a deputy vice-chancellor not a head or dean of a department. I think you are better off spending your time and resources on more substantial proposals.

Kosala Sahabandu is notable as he was a gold medalist at an Asian Games Y

LahiruG: I've just worked up an article for Sahabandu and all the references I've found indicate he is an alumni of
Rahula College not Mahinda. The refrence cited relating to Mahinda is a hard copy book which I don't have access to - is it possible for you to locate a reference that confirms his attendance at Mahinda otherwise I will have to delete it from this list.

Dan arndt: I have added the reference in newly created page and updated with the new link. In this book's page no 36 it is clearly stated that Kosala Sahabandu went on to represent Sri Lanka in athletics and won a gold medal at the 1974 Asian games for 400m x 4 relay.

Judiciary
Supreme Court judges are notable but again need to be properly referenced to verify their appointment & they attended the school.
L. M. Jayaratne struggle to find any references verifying he was a Supreme Court judge however he is notable as the Governor of the Southern Province.
Both Kumarasinghe and Wijesekera are notable as PCs.
12 - A Presidents Counsel is not automatically notable - needs to be additional supporting information to justify notability.
Civil servants
There is generally nothing notable about being a senior civil servant. If they were the Director or Head of a major government agency there might be a case to put forward but they would have to have done something noteworthy in their tenure in that position.

LahiruG: It seems rather than addressing the genuine concerns Dan arndt and I have expressed you seem intent on exacerbating the situation by adding more entries which violate

He has notified me about this page in my talk page and I have accepted to participate after this discussion we had earlier. It seems like that you don't understand the purpose of this page when looking at the allegations you have made in the above comment. As i have said earlier in the previous discussion, your involvement here is completely based on ur eagerness to blame / attack me rather than observing or protecting the key polices of WP, due to the personal disputes you had with me when editing
Sri Lankan civil war related articles sometime ago. No one in the WP community needs to scrutinize my efforts as I have not yet started to add references to undisputed entrees. You are the user whose disregard to key policies has to be opened up to the scrutiny of the Wikipedia community soon. I have given one recent example for that in my previous discussion
