Rush is awesome. When I first started playing bass I was learning stuff from Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Then my brother introduced me to Geddy Lee via Permanent Waves. I was in shock! I agree with That Guy, From that Show regarding Moving Pictures. The production work done by Terry Brown on Moving Pictures is astonishing! The mix is perfect, everything has brilliance and separation, the bass growls, and the drums are clear, snappy, and deep. The sound of Peart's toms, especially that floor-tom at the end of Limelight, is soooo nice! I find it amusing that folks compare them with current bands... I hear Peart-isms all over the place in NEW rock stuff... and he was doing it oh, back in 1976!

I used to be one of those people who said, "I hate Geddy Lee's voice, but I give them credit because their instrumentals are great." But I thought about it long and hard, and if all I want is good instrumentals, and I don't care about singing (or even quality lyrics) I could listen to classical music or something. So I decided just to hate Rush, with no qualifiers, the same way I hate Beethoven or Joe Satriani. :)

Awful. Utterly awful. Misunderstand everything that's vital about rock 'n' roll.

Rush was my ex-wife's favorite band. That's part of the reason she's my ex-wife now.

Making a humorous poll in Wikipedia is great. It allows everyone to have fun and thus helps the community. But liking Rush? ::shudder:: That's unforgivable.

I saw them in Glasgow in the early 80s, almost certainly the
Permanent Waves tour. The horror. The horror.

Good technical skills, but their music is a triumph of precision over passion. -

Not what I'd call a fan, but don't hate 'em, either...I spent the 80s more into the whole
R.E.M./
Smiths/
CVB thing. My younger brother was more into them.

I enjoy Rush, but I'm not voting because Kate didn't tell me about her little "poll". Geez. You drag me into these contentious POV debates but you don't tell me about your neat little poll. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ. ;-) --

Extreme Quizzical Indifference. What is Rush? Is it some band? --
Maru(talk)Contribs 19:08, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
Get them a proper singer, and I'm sure they'd be just fine.
Friday(talk) 19:55, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Never heard of them, does this reflect poorly on me? I live in Ireland, though.
Babajobu 22:27, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
Yay! No more arguing! Don't care about Rush though.
karmafist 00:16, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Not even certain which band is "Rush", although I've been assured that I've heard them on the radio. Peart worked with the
Rheostatics one time though; now that's exciting! -

Delete. Total indifference - know the name very well but couldn't tell you a single track of theirs. I know it says the poll is closed but it's still being advertised in a sig so there! :) --
