Most of these just needed a quick tidy up. There are many draft articles that get rejected at Articles for Creation, and the writers lose their enthusiasm after constant rejection. this contributes to the massive drop in new editors. These drafts, because they are not in mainspace, don't get to benefit from community help in improving them and are often deleted en masse after 6 months because of a rule called "g13" which means drafts can be deleted. Many of these articles are rejected for borderline reasons such as formatting or tone and would never be deleted if they were in the mainspace. Also, many new users believe that if they write a draft they must submit it for review. This isn't true at all, you can add your new article directly into the mainspace without review. It still might get deleted, but at least this will be decided by public committee rather than one reviewer at AFC. Common poor reasons for deleting:
![]() | An editor has indicated that this is a promising draft and requests that it not be speedy-deleted as WP:G13 and instead be nominated at WP:MFD. |
![]() |
An editor has performed a search and found that
sufficient sources exist to establish the subject's
notability. |
