Unechsky District ( Russian: Унечский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [5] district ( raion), one of the twenty-seven in Bryansk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the western central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,148 square kilometers (443 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the town of Unecha. [1] Population: 34,698 ( 2021 Census); [7] 40,682 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 46,871 ( 2002 Census); [8] 49,383 ( 1989 Soviet census). [9] The population of Unecha accounts for 70.0% of the district's total population. [7]
