It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,220 square kilometers (470 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the town of Sevsk. [1] Population: 14,159 ( 2021 Census); [7] 16,923 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 18,759 ( 2002 Census); [8] 20,946 ( 1989 Soviet census). [9] The population of Sevsk accounts for 47.5% of the district's total population. [7]
