Deletion
I just removed the speedy deletion template. Having a template for a specific season means the information won't be lost the following season, i.e. this template can be used on the players' article pages forever and doesn't need to be removed when the player leaves the club. However, it is duplicating
Template:Edinburgh Rugby squad, so that template must be redirected to this one.

Are all squad navbox templates required from season to season? In my opinion, to keep only squad navbox template for the current season is better, and the champion squad template should be remain for one champion team by one season.

Historical squads have already been included in each season article like
2014–15 Edinburgh Rugby season. This is sufficient. Suppose that a man has played for 10 seasons. Then the article for him attaches at least 10 templates. It repeats itself uselessly. The same information is stated in {{Infobox rugby biography}}, the text, and squad template.

The same information isn't stated in {{Infobox rugby biography}} – that doesn't give you an indication of which team-mates he played with, etc. You stated above you'd like to keep for the "champion team". It someone plays for a successful team, then the same arguments above could apply.

Having concise and pertinent information at hand to provide to the reader of the article is desirable. Why have templates for champions and not non-winning teams when it gives a better indication of a player's career?
