- Reviewed: I'm on it, haha.
- Comment: Are you ready for this? I don't know that I am. I am parking this here on the advice of
Mandarax; I am working as hard as I can on bringing all of them up to DYK length and standards (the ones marked with an asterisk are done), but the five-day limit might do me in otherwise.
BlueMoonset et al., let's talk logistics, maybe?

- (
edit conflict) Since my name has been invoked here, I guess it's up to me to comment. It's a very interesting paragraph, with all these interconnections. The problem is that it's a mini-essay, not a hook, with 981 characters even when you exclude "(pictured)" and all bold article names after the first one (it's 1294 when all you exclude are the asterisks, extra close paren and question mark, and "pictured"). The guidelines are very clear: 200 is the maximum, excluding all but one of the article links. There might be a bit of flexibility since there are 19 articles in toto, but maybe a dozen or two additional characters, not nearly 4x extra. In its present form, it's longer than a standard seven-hook DYK section. I suspect it will be best to separate this into a number of multi-article hooks, each of which meets the 200-character max (minus exclusions for the second through Nth bold article names). Note that these numbers were computed before "(of
Going to the Dogs fame, a play with six
German Shepherds in the lead)" was added, which makes the number of articles 20, and the excess length even greater.

- Weeeell, I disagree with the "essay" characterization, since there's no thesis to speak of. (I'm an English teacher by profession.) Mandarax suggested that FA give up its slot for the day and I agree: those good writers get all the glory, while us bad writers of bad articles have to settle for so much less. I wouldn't, of course, want to rules to be broken--without rules there's nothing but anarchy, and the dogs don't like eating bread made of anarchy, as the Dutch might say. I'm not opposed to a series of hooks run on consecutive days, for instance (at a Dutch-appropriate time slot, preferably), but I'd want some token credit for a potential 20-hook DYK, perhaps in the shape of the kind of silver goblet handed to Captain Beefheart on
Van Oekel's Discohoek, with a note of appreciation from
Jimbo Wales. Thanks BlueMoonset,

- OK, I have a counter proposal, since I wish to honor Schippers, who may not have long to live. A series of hooks on consecutive, with his picture in every one of them, and a bit of leeway since I need to repeat his somewhat lengthy name every time. I have one below (I count 189, minus "pictured" and the other names). I'll do my best, of course, to keep it reasonable--never mind that some of the articles still need writing or expanding. I finish them and then we run them all: I'm putting this up now because I started on the 19th. The ones below, except for van der Linden, are all at appropriate length, I think. Thanks,
