List of Broadway Theaters

  • ... that of the 41 active Broadway theaters only 3 are actually on Broadway? Source: "While Broadway theaters are colloquially considered to be "on Broadway," only 3 active Broadway theaters are physically on Broadway (the Broadway Theatre, Palace Theatre, and Winter Garden Theatre)." [1]
  • Comment: there are plenty of images of Broadway theaters that could be used if necessary. Looking for another DYK to review now.

Substantial list, on good sources, just I can only hope that the database is accepted as reliable. (IMDb is not.) No copyvio obvious. If you want the hook to go with an image, you will have to propose one ;) - probably mention the chosen theater - which should be one on Broadways - in the hook. - What I'd do, towards better accessibility: use "br /" instead of "/br", shorten some extra-long headers in the tables. Have names of productions in normal font and italics, consistently, as in the beginning. Think about placing the many alt names for theaters in footnotes. - Thank you for a work of love! -- Gerda Arendt ( talk) 10:19, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! The database is run and maintained by the Broadway League, not edited by the public like IMBD is, so I believe it is reliable. I am switching the names of productions to italics (complete mistake on my part), changing to "br /", and shorting extra long headers in the tables. The many alt names is a problem I've been dealing with since starting this list. I'll look at other options, such as foot notes... maybe I can make them collapsible? thank you again! Great! I don't think collapsible is a good idea, because the main function will be that readers find a theater under some name, and when collapsed it's not found. -- Gerda Arendt ( talk) 16:47, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
