• Good references; no sign of bias. Prose and length is good also. Article was nominated 7 days after expansion of prose began. I have undone the promotion of this article, and removed it from the queue. The hook is not supported by the article; the hook discusses the wages of an apprentice, the article the wages of a journeyman (which is the stage you reach after you have been an apprentice). (The article should also be edited to make clear which of the Young 1999 sources is meant, as there are two different ones from the same author in that year, but that is a more minor point). The source given indicates that the import ceased also in part due to the popularity of English creamware, not just the collusion of chinamen. Perhaps the hook can be rewritten to make this more clear? Fram ( talk) 08:05, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

• Further reading indicates that there were multiple effects operating at this time: the effect of the Napoleonic war on competition, the rise of neoclassicism and a change in import duties, reducing the tariff on tea to 12.5% but raising the tariff on porcelain to 109%. This makes cause and effect too complex so the hook needs simplification. Let's try ALT2. Warden ( talk) 10:32, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
