Length and hook are fine. No copyvio. But the hook's reference is based on some reviewer on Amazon, not a typical reliable source. The reviewer may well be correct but we'll need a better source if the hook is to be retained. Or you can propose a new, better sourced hook.

Thank you for your review, Hybernator. Much appreciated. I added a couple more inline citations, including from A World Apart book review by
Anne Applebaum and from the Note by
Penguin Group on the book jacket.

Applebaum's web page says "10 years" (not "more than a decade") so we should change the text to reflect that.
I see your point about the exact reference to Yertsevo in the hook as oppose to the Gulag system as a whole. The only problem I see with your ALT is that the Solzhenitsyn's revelations did not relate to Yertsevo specifically but the entire system of camps, and even Grudziński was a prisoner of at least two of them and did not limit his book to his experiences there.

I see. On the other hand, the nominated article is about a specific gulag. But you want to compare Herling-Grudziński's revelations in A World Apart with those of Solzhenitsyn a decade later. What about this?
Sounds perfect, thanks. I crossed out the other three ALTs to avoid confusion. Looking forward to a final tick. Thanks again Hybernator.
