Comment only Perhaps I am missing something, but would it not be more precise to replace "on maize and grain crops" with "on maize and other grain crops" or simply "on grain crops"?

Well, here in the UK, maize is grown to make silage and I don't think of it as a grain crop, but in the US, where this insect lives, it is considered to be a cereal grain so I have rephrased hook and article.
