New and long article. No apparent copyvios. Hook checks out from the reference book. No QPQ required this being 4th DYK. The reference says the rebellion took place in the tenth lunar month of 1603. Was it November then? I don't have much knowledge of Japanese calendar. §§

Turnbull mentions that the rebellion took place in November in "The ghosts of Amakusa: localised opposition to centralised control in Higo Province, 1589–1590", which is referenced in the article.

I will AGF on that point as that source is not visible to me online. The hook checks out well though. GTG. §§
