Omeima Mudawi-Rowlings

Created by FuzzyMagma ( talk). Self-nominated at 14:57, 19 February 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Omeima Mudawi-Rowlings; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: @ FuzzyMagma: All good here. Maybe consider removing part of the hook for conciseness, like

ALT1 ... that Omeima Mudawi-Rowlings was made a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by the Queen but received her medal from the King? Schminnte ( talk contribs) 19:53, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

  • @ Schminnte: I wonder if we can keep the "disabilities" part as that was part of why I wrote the article to start with. if you have an alternative that includes the fact that is is deaf, I would also welcome that FuzzyMagma ( talk) 20:00, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
    • @ FuzzyMagma: The only reason I suggested ALT1 is because it is a bit more snappier and would probably generate more page views. My main concern anyway was sentence inversion, so this should be compatible with your views as well. Here's some edited suggestions below:

ALT2 ... that Omeima Mudawi-Rowlings was made a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to people with disabilities by the Queen but received her medal from the King?

ALT3 ... that Omeima Mudawi-Rowlings was made a member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her "services to people with disabilities in the arts" by the Queen, but received her medal from the King?

@ Schminnte: many thanks for your consideration. ALT2 sounds great.
then we are good to go. Schminnte ( talk contribs) 17:45, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
Hope those help. Schminnte ( talk contribs) 20:21, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
