The article was made on the 15th, so is new enough. It is more than long enough and reads neutrally, with in-line citations. The hook is short enough, neutral, cited in-line, and interesting. I do have a suggestion though:
Alt1: ... that

tables game of Irish and eventually surpassed it in popularity?
I think that would be clearer to our readers than "superseded". Anyways, regardless of the hook chosen, we're still waiting on the QPQ before I can approve.
