Length and date are fine, and the article is extremely interesting. I can AGF on sources, but the hook doesn't do the article justice, and some content issues remain. I would suggest:
I would like to see that betrothal story confirmed, though, since that new article raises some questions. --

The betrothal story mentioning Manaiula is in the Mid Atlantic Magazine, I cited, which is the only source that mentions any other princesses other than Ninito, so I doubt it's accuracy. I think it might be incorrect since Nacny Sumner was born in 1839 and the painting was dated to 1848. I proposed we strike the third hook proposal and used the second proposal instead.
The whole betrothal issue needs some investigation, with some appropriate edits to the article. Certainly both ALT1 and AL2 both look dubious. How about the more solidly based:
