ALT1:... that singer
Rihanna's Fenty Beauty cosmetics line has been internationally recognized for inclusivity across skin tones and gender? Sources:
US,
US,
UK,
France,
France,
Spain
Comment: I've been working on the expansion for women's history month (and the expansion continues), but I realize timeframe especially with pending AfD(
closed as keep) may mean it's probably too late to work into DYK for that purpose. In any case. Other hook suggestions very welcome, especially if someone has an idea for combining (since Time put Fenty Beauty on the list for the reasons described in Alt1.)
Earwig flags Fenty Beauty by singer Rihanna is a cosmetics brand launched in September 2017. Popular for its broad inclusivity across skin tones and gender, especially its Pro Filt'R foundation product produced in 40 different shades, Fenty Beauty was named one of Time magazine's best inventions of 2017. as also existing
here, but it seems that they copied this from Wikipedia based on the dates. Other Earwig flags are direct quotations.
QPQ done.
Hooks are interesting. I prefer the original to ALT1 only because there might be some debate as to what it means to be "internationally recognized". It seems like there might be a bit of
WP:SYNTH; none of the sources themselves say the line is internationally recognized. Rather this is a claim being made after looking at how sources in different countries have discussed it. Striking ALT1.
However, but it's very clear what it means to be one of Time's best inventions of 2017 and you have secondary sources saying such. This hook is explicitly stated and referenced in article.
The rationale Time gives is mainly about skin tone inclusivity and not explicitly about gender, so perhaps another possibility is:
ALT2: ... that singer
Rihanna's Fenty Beauty cosmetics line was named one of
Time magazine's best inventions of 2017, in part because it was designed for a wide variety of skin tones?
