... that David Cameron's sister-in-law will be taking over from
George Osborne as editor of London's Evening Standard? Source: "Former chancellor of the exchequer George Osborne is to stand down from his role as editor of London's Evening Standard newspaper ... His replacement is Emily Sheffield ... Emily Sheffield [L] is the sister of Samantha Cameron, the wife of ex-prime minister David" (

Y Article is long enough (2573 characters), new enough (created 12 June, nominated 19 June- just in time!), and article is within policy
Y Hook is short enough, interesting and well cited. Assuming this runs after 1 July (which seems likely, as DYK queues/preps are filled past that date), the tense will need to be changed
Y QPQ done
Overall, this nomination passes, congratulations.

I'm looking for hooks to move to prep and I can't say I'm a fan of using "David Cameron's sister-in-law" instead of "Emily Sheffield". Would you consider a reword?

Honestly, I think we need a completely new hook. Few are going to understand the point of the current one even though it is the obvious one in the article.

suggestion, unless someone can think of a nice hook...
ALT2:... that Emily Sheffield, the new editor of London's Evening Standard, was sacked from British Vogue as part of what was called a "posh girl exodus"?Philafrenzy (

I'm not particularly keen on ALT2, as DYK hooks shouldn't focus unduly on negative parts of a BLP (which being sacked is). Fine with ALT1 or ALT1a, although should Vogue be wikilinked? (There seems to be no DYK-wide agreement on whether to wikilink or not)

How about ALT2a:... that Emily Sheffield, the new editor of London's Evening Standard, left British Vogue as part of what was called a "posh girl exodus"? — Preceding
