If you've never heard of the
iron pillar of Delhi, ALT1 doesn't tell you much. What about:
ALT2: ... that the original Dhar iron pillar must have been almost twice as high and at least 1,000 kilograms (2,200 lb) heavier than the
iron pillar of Delhi?
