Comment: I'd like to request that this DYK be run on November 18 or the morning of November 19 (California time) since
Big Game between the UC Berkeley and Stanford football teams will take place the evening of November 19, and the hook fits that very well.

Cannot find Berkeley in the source. It just says the University of California. Do you have another source?

He refers to "Cal" a couple sentences after "University of California" in the source, and refers again to "Cal" in the following paragraph. On the following page, the interviewer refers to "Cal" again. As can be seen from
Cal and
University of California, Berkeley, "Cal" is the nickname of UC Berkeley.

If it's such a well known nickname, how would you feel about a pipe link
Cal, provided the nickname is explained in the university's article? --

That's fine by me.

Yes "Cal" refers to California-Berkeley. One would never refer to UCLA, UC-Davis, UC-Santa Barbara, etc. as "Cal." —

Good to go then.
