Good article on excellent sources, offline sources accepted AGF. I am happy with the licensed image, but not so happy with the (yes, sourced) hook. "has multiple uses" seems not the best possible phrasing. Perhaps think of mentioning the outer bark which can be taken without killing the tree? If you don't find something more attractive I'll approve as it is ;) --

I have changed ALT0 to "many" rather than "multiple". Or here is
ALT1: ... that the outer bark of the downy birch(pictured) can be stripped off without killing the tree and used to make canoes, drinking vessels and roof tiles?
