I'm having second thoughts about the hook (original and ALT1), as it seems to lead the reader to
Barberton Greenstone Belt rather than the archaea in it. How about:
ALT2 sounds good to me, I am still learning how to do this DYK!

Page name is potentially ambiguous when talking about ancient bacteria. Archean (or Archaean) is occasionally used as an adjective describing species or genes belonging to members of the
Archea, which are a form of bacteria - maybe a hatnote indicating that this refers to the age of the life and not the phylogeny of the life?
