Personally, I find the hook a bit dull. And I also wonder what happened to Morales after 2002, as the article seems to end there.

I grant you that it's not the most interesting hook in the history of DYK. Maybe there's a better one I haven't thought of. His career basically ended after 2002, so I haven't found anything on him in the past decade. –

I've been looking, and I also can't find anything about him after 2002. But these alts jump out at me:
