The events around this are very notable to that of the rivalry. When a manager who says he hates the other team in the rivalry gets fired, it is worth mentioning. Furthermore, the Yankees defeated the Red Sox to clinch the division and home field advantage in the playoffs. That too is notable within the context of the rivalry. This isn't a "game by game" recap as you said. Winning the division and securing home field advantage is a notable moment. Arnabdas ( talk) 20:37, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

I was wondering if there were notable things that fans have done to show the intensity of the rivalry. One such example I found: http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2014/05/buck_foston_bar_wins_court_verdict_yankees_red_sox_fans_react.html 161.185.157.23 ( talk) 18:53, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: Not moved. Please note that the Google searches are two-faced, because some hits under each string are for the opposite order. Even so it appears that the Yankees are usually listed first for the hits in Google Books and when -wikipedia is used to exclude material copied from Wikipedia.
