I placed the POV tag when creating the article because it is pasted from a US government website. Because this comes from a US govt source it may not be neutral, but I don't have the expertise to judge. (Hopefully others that know more will simply remove the tag if they think the article looks okay.) Mangostar ( talk) 05:18, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

The claim isn't sourced properly and although I was able to find it on the website provided, it's not clear to me if there was such a coup attempt, or if the Syrians are simply making accusations. Also, the leader ( Adib Shishakli) supposedly threatened in 1957 was overthrown and killed in 1954, according to his Wikipedia article. So I don't really know what the Syrian embassy is talking about. TheTimesAreAChanging ( talk) 22:15, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
The history from 2008 forward needs major work. I hope someone with appropriate expertise will improve it. Wcmead3 ( talk) 00:22, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
