In some states, a Shoplifting offense involving a person who has been previously banned from a retail establishment can be charged with felony Burglary. So, in some instances it is not considered different than Burglary, as stated in the entry. 75.130.74.50 ( talk) 12:27, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

The notable cases section strikes me as mostly trivia, and neither necessary to the article nor helpful to understanding shoplifting. Also, there is no apparent measure of what makes a case noteworthy beyond whether the person involved is famous, a criterion that of itself seems to either make for an arbitrarily selected short list of incidents or an extremely long list.
