His name means castling, as in the chess move. "Face of the king" could be written as rukh-i shah but "shahrukh" definitely means castling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.135.203.32 ( talk) 21:27, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
I've reverted a good faith edit by User:Barefact. The name Gowharshad has nothing to do with the Altaic title Shad. It is derived of the Persian words "gowhar" (jewel) and "shad" (shining), thus "shining jewel". Tajik ( talk) 19:38, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
The August 20 date was an unexplained change by a user with no history. A check of sites did not obviously reveal any sources that listed August 20, however because of the calendar translation difficulty, there are often discrepancies in eastern dates, so it is plausible that this date can be defended. However, the only date I found other than August 30 was July 21. Wiseprincebambi ( talk) 06:40, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Really 20 august seems to be wrong. According Yazdi in Zafarnama, the date was thuesday 14 Rabialaker 779; Rabialaker don't exist now, but must be Rabi al-Thani. 14 Rabi al-Thani 779 is 28 august 1377 (that is thuersday). 14 Rabi al-Awal 779 is 30 july 1377 but was Tuesday. Then I adopted 28 august 1377 in the catalan viquipedia.-- Jolle ( talk) 10:18, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
His name is Shahrukh, not Shah Rukh. Muin-ud-Din Shahrukh. 151.44.91.122 ( talk) 10:01, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
The article needs a map of the Timurid empire's changes under his reign. 50.111.51.9 ( talk) 23:28, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
