On 9 October 2021, it was proposed that this article be moved to Sic (disambiguation). The result of the discussion was not moved. |
This came from the
entry:
just in case someone can out-imagine me and create a valid WP article on this school or at least Indoneasian overseas schools. It has no place in a Dab, tho, in the absence of such an article.
On the other hand,
is a dictdef as it stands and has no place in a Dab; this text could go into
French writing conventions or some better idea for an article.

I am french and I can certify that in french "sic" means "as it is written here" in 99.9% of the cases. And I am not joking... -- ArséniureDeGallium 17:10, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
I have changed this entry to more accurately reflect the meaning. It is a common mistake, as the previous entry showed, to believe the word is or can only be used to indicate an error. Alci12 12:37, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
The entry for Sic (Latin) on this page is far too in depth for a disambig. - Stoph 21:40, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
I don't believe it, either. Acronyms mostly date from the latter half of the twentieth century.
does this not have a meaning in the USA as a slang word?
Somebody should write it on the slipknot meaning cause I see everybody going (SIC) all the time (and frankly its annoying) but I dunno what the hell they mean by it.
I cleaned up this disambiguation page per MOS:DAB. I removed for unclear notability:
Removed for being a dictionary defintion:

SIC → Sic (disambiguation) – "SIC" in all caps being the disambiguation page citing "Sic" in sentence case as the main article of interest doesn't make sense. IAmAnIndividual ( talk) 23:17, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Could an autoconfirmed user please create a redirect to Pierre Albert-Birot § SIC so that we can more maintainably and naturally put it in the DAB entry? I've altered the DAB entry now that I have edited th>e article to put SIC in its own section, and I've left an anchor there. So the content of the redirect would look like this:
#REDIRECT:
Pierre Albert-Birot#SIC
{{rshell|
{{R to anchor}}
{{R with possibilities}}
}}
There's no forum for IPs to request creation of redirects, so I can't do it myself. Were it just for the DAB I'd not ask, but it may be useful for the search engine (and thus ultimately our readers) too. But it's not as if this article gets high traffic.
Sorry for the bad formatting but I've tried to make it easy to cut-'n'-paste- To create a draft page would seem excessive. 85.67.32.244 ( talk) 06:53, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
