Not yet kicked out of Parliament

Editors have said he is a former MP. However, the BBC says he will be kicked out if he gets a custodial sentence over a year. [1] That has not happened yet, so we're jumping the gun. Best wishes, Solipsism 101 ( talk) 17:53, 11 April 2022 (UTC) reply

Khan or Ahmad Khan?

This isn’t a British barrelled name as the tag at the top of the article suggests - most news outlets seem to have gone with “Khan” rather than “Ahmad Khan”. Can anyone with greater knowledge of Indian naming customs shed more light? Joeldelusional ( talk) 20:44, 11 April 2022 (UTC) reply

Khan has NOT resigned

He has announced that he is resigning. This is not the same as resigning. Until he resigns, he is still a Member of Parliament.

Please stop editing the page to state that he's a former MP and that he's resigned, both are false (as of now). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.217.88.120 ( talk) 16:31, 14 April 2022 (UTC) reply

He has now. Joeldelusional ( talk) 15:04, 28 April 2022 (UTC) reply

It only becomes effective after 30 April. He's still being paid as an MP until then. 2.31.162.84 ( talk) 16:24, 28 April 2022 (UTC) reply
Until the Treasury appoint him to an office of profit under the crown (either the Bailiff of the Chiltern Hundreds, or the Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead) he is still a member of parliament. This appointment has not yet happened, and the Parliament website still lists him as a member of parliament. Ergo, he is still a member of parliament. Please edit the article to reflect this. 2.31.164.11 ( talk) 12:25, 1 May 2022 (UTC) reply
The article does show that he is still the incumbent MP. Edwardx ( talk) 12:28, 1 May 2022 (UTC) reply

Name (forenames, surname)

Shortening a longer, probably incorrect comment I made a few minutes ago (in Talk History if of any interest): a letter by Khan and others is signed as "Imran Khan MP" (where others sign with forename and surname, not just surname). Ref: letter by Imran Khan and other members of the Houses of Parliament (9 November 2020). "Britain's heroes". The Daily Telegraph. However parliamentary documents refer to him as "Ahmad Khan, Imran". So it's probably correct to refer to him as "Ahmad Khan" as a double-barrelled surname, rather than just "Khan", though I don't know if there are also sources that refer to "Khan".
