but why did they do it? The Flint Journal Article: http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2015/01/see_the_images_from_the_histor.html states: "The strike began Dec. 30, 1936, at the Fisher 2 plant when the men sat down on the line in protest against the transfer of three inspectors who refused to quit the union."
My Grandfather, Royal Nelson Wismer, was Plant Manager during this strike. He testified in Washington during the Senate hearings regarding the strike. by Diane B. Why did the workers decide to strike? Was about salaries? Was it about too long working day? In other words: what was their motivation behind the strike?
Was it inspired by the sit-down strike of rubber workers in Akron, Ohio that had taken place a few months earlier? 173.88.241.33 ( talk) 04:16, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
