I just don't get why you state formulars without giving the abbreviations/symbols. WP is so awesome, but so many sites with formulas are too sophisticated. i have an academic background, partly in science - still i have a hard time. -- 194.96.45.176 ( talk) 15:01, 30 August 2016 (UTC) reply

Subscripts awry?

The original source for this page uses non-standard subscripts.

It is common, I gather to use: Pa - for arterial blood gas partial pressures PA - for alveolar gas partial pressures

Likewise, volumes are similarly denoted. VA for alveolar volume.

Anyone object if I go through and correct the subscripts? Because this,

( {\displaystyle V_{t}} V_{t}) is made up of {\displaystyle V_{a}+V_{d}} {\displaystyle V_{a}+V_{d}}"

is confusing.
