No need to mention it was previously called "REM". Many things happen to a show during its production so I've removed it. It will be relevant to include it if there is a "Conception" or "Development" section in time.
I am making two separate proposals for mergers into this article.
First, I am proposing that the articles Michael Britten, Hannah Britten, Rex Britten, Britten family, and List of Awake cast members be merged.
Second, I am proposing that List of Awake episodes and all the individual episode articles ( Pilot (Awake), The Little Guy, Guilty (Awake), Kate Is Enough, Oregon (Awake), That's Not My Penguin, Ricky's Tacos, Nightswimming (Awake), Game Day (Awake), Slack Water, Say Hello to My Little Friend (Awake), Two Birds (Awake), and Turtles All the Way Down (Awake)) all be merged into the main article as well.
The need for both these mergers is obvious. The show ran for less than three months, had terrible ratings, and has been completely ignored by the culture at large. I've already tried to bring the main article itself down to a reasonable state; having 19 auxiliary articles in addition to the main one is absurd.
I feel the character articles are an obvious enough merge. Anything "important" in them can be said in the main article itself; none of these characters merit having their own article. None of them have had any cultural impact at all. I mean my god, if Norma Desmond redirects to Sunset Boulevard, what justification is there to have articles on all THREE characters from this forgotten one-season wonder AND a SEPARATE article on their fictional family (which has nothing to add that isn't already in those articles or the main one), and on top of all that a "list of cast members" that has essentially no content whatsoever?
The list of episodes, and individual episode articles, is different from the cast/character pages, but I've listed it for essentially the same reason: it is totally unnecessary and there is nothing in them, or the context surrounding the show, justifying having it. Plenty of shows that lasted longer and made a bigger cultural impact have a simple episode list within the main article itself; it's completely excessive for this show that ran half a season to have a breakout article and separate articles on every single episode.
Thank you for your consideration. It's time to get rid of this nonsense.
Also, iirc, the two worlds are presented to the viewer with contrasting color palettes. Is that the word I want? Is there a better way to say this? Do we have an article on the use of palette in cinema? — Tamfang ( talk) 16:43, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
I am proposing to merge List of Awake episodes into Awake (TV series). There is a long-standing general consensus on MOS:TV and WP:TV that one season with 13 episodes is not enough to have a separate List of episodes article. Based on MOS:TVSPLIT and Wikipedia:Article splitting (television), WP:SPLIT, WP:SUMMARY, WP:SPINOUT, WP:LENGTH still apply. — YoungForever (talk) 03:16, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
