For the stopover airport (Idlewild/JFK), the name of the airport at the time is used, but for the final destnation (Atlanta), the current name is used. Shouldn't this be changed so that they both reflect one name (either the current name or the name at the time of the incident)? -- Vreddy92 ( talk) 03:28, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Fails #1: needs more referencing. Fails #2:needs section on investigation, results, causes, etc. Fails #3 :needs formatting to follow standard accidents format. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 03:26, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
It shows all of that in the Wikiproject boxes at the top of the page, so do you really need to repeat all that? Whoop whoop pull up ( talk) 00:27, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Shouldn't this crash be referred to by ts flight number, and called Air France Flight 007? Whoop whoop pull up ( talk) 00:25, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Air France Flight 007 —
I think this page should be moved to
Air France Flight 007. This is because the flight number is known (007) and per WP:AIRCRASH, it should be named in the format <<airline>> Flight <<flight number>>, making the name "Air France Flight 007."

What do you mean you don't see a hatnote? It's right at the top of the article page, beneath the article/discussion tabs. You even added it yourself, Whoop... , see this edit comparision: [1]

I know I brought this up 2 years ago...but now again New York's airport is referred to as Idlewild and Atlanta's is referred to as Hartsfield-Jackson (not its name at the time). Maybe the names should be fixed so that it says Atlanta Municipal Airport (now Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.36.15.133 ( talk) 11:39, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
There was a much more recent incident involving Air France Flight 007. The flight is now operated by Airbus A380 and operates the JFK-CDG route and on April 11, 2011 its left wing struck the tail of Comair flight 553, which had just landed from Boston.
