He has received a lot of coverage, yet people keep removing him cause he’s apparently isn’t internationally notable. I disagree with them. JoeyRuss ( talk) 10:57, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
Hi,
I wonder if that wikipedia should indicate 2018 as the 19th year of the 21st century & 3rd millennium as 2000 is the 1st year & not 2001 138.75.150.238 ( talk) 13:50, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

On the 2017 article it was agreed to add Youtube personality Angry Grandpa to the list of deaths as his real name (Charles Green) rather than as his Youtube identity (see HERE). This precedent indicates that TotalBiscuit should instead be credited as John Bain. -- Millionsandbillions ( talk) 18:02, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Danny Kirwan was an integral member of Fleetwood Mac, appearing on four of their studio albums and was a member of one of two line-ups generally considered to be their classic. He is the primary member responsible for the band moving away from their blues rock roots and along with Bob Welch and Christine McVie transitioned the band to a more soft rock direction - laying the groundwork for the Lindsey Buckingham/Stevie Nicks era stuff. Kirwan is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee; his guitar work and role in the band has been acclaimed. At the very least given his merits Kirwan’s image is deserving to be put up on this page; certainly more so than a rapper who wasn’t all that well known outside of the unusual circumstances of his passing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thescrubbythug ( talk • contribs) 19:59, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

In spite of efforts to include anyone mentioned in a Wikipedia article in the deaths section, there is still consensus that the person must be internationally notable, and must generally have a Wikipedia article. Some editors are adding people whose deaths were noticed in a Wikipedia article. Until consensus is changed, it seems pointy, at best, to add dozens of individuals. Furthermore, it seems likely that each entry will eventually need a reference, as is now required in WP:DOY articles. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 00:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

As i was looking through june deaths i thought it was weird that xxxtentacion didn't have a picture for june deaths, but i assumed that the older famous celebrities have some type of senority so their pics go first. That was until curiosity hit me and i decided to check other celebs. Then i found that lil peep(a young artist), kim jong hyun(another young artist), and even charles manson(a very controversial person) have pics for when they died. So can xxxtentacion get a pic for june? Seeing as his death was arguably the most known in june, let alone the year 2018. Zackattack996 ( talk) 13:33, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

Why is Hurricane Michael listed here while Hurricane Sandy is not listed in the 2012 article. Michael had extremely low impact compared to Sandy which had a huge impact and received immense international coverage. Just because Michael is category 5 it is more notable than Sandy? Also I have noticed that a lot of important events were omitted in 2012 because of the then recent years policy 2002-2017, but 2018, 2019, 2020 are flooded with events that would be considered not notable had the policy still been in effect. There is a serious issue of Wikipedia:Recentism in this article, and I think a recentism tag should be placed. Dilbaggg ( talk) 15:51, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

In the section of the listed deaths of the year 2018, I'm upset to find that a favorite actor, Bill Daily, who played two of the most popular and beloved TV characters of all time, did not have the occasion of his passing at age 91 retained on this page for the year, which is locked from my being able to introduce what I feel is an appropriate edit, even though his date of death is still listed on more specialized pages. As I suspect his removal may have been unintentional, I would argue his mention is warranted here for the significance of his contribution to television comedy. I request the following entry be restored to the correct location:

I would also like to suggest changing the date format of this article to the DMY format (e.g. 6 June 2020 as opposed to June 6, 2020). The DMY format seems more international and more suitable for a "global" article like. Also DMY simply makes more sense as it goes from smallest to highest.
At the village pump, I've presented a proposal to establish a standard to use DMY in general for all articles about "generic" years. The discussion got kind of messy however, and I'll propaly restart it at some point. In the meantime, I would like it to create consensus about changing it for specifically this and all other nine articles about the 2010s-- Marginataen ( talk) 16:11, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
