Article Assessment for WikiProject Medicine

Hello. I am a member of WikiProject Medicine, a Wikipedia wide project that maintains and improves articles that fall under the scope of medicine. Since your article has not fallen under our scope, I have placed the correct template(s) on this talk page. Leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. Thanks, and keep editing Wikipedia! Renaissancee (talk) 16:38, 10 June 2009 (UTC) reply

Per discussion at WP:MED itself, Renaissancee's decision is incorrect, and it is appropriate to tag this article. 70.29.212.226 ( talk) 06:34, 13 June 2009 (UTC) reply

Nicaragua

There's a Nicaragua map available File:H1N1 Nicaragua Map.svg... but we don't have a Nicaragua section...

There's another Nicaragua map avilable - File:H1N1 Nicaragua map by confirmed cases.svg... but we don't have a section on Nicaragua... 70.29.212.226 ( talk)

Two questions

Question one: All the islands of the Lesser Antilles are shaded as having confirmed cases. Yet, there doesn't seem to be any mention of any cases there other than in Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago. Is there a mistake here?

Question two: Suggestion, really. The map with Greenland shows many small regions. However, these appear to be obsolete as of January 1, 2009, according to Subdivisions of Greenland. I know nothing of editing the maps, so I thought I'd mention it in case someone who knows how can fix it.

-- Patteroast ( talk) 20:04, 9 June 2009 (UTC) reply

(Greenland) ... Oh, I thought it was still the way it was before. So they consolidated. The map that first needs to be updated is File:North America second level political division 2 and Greenland.svg. That map was made last year by User:CarolSpears, unfortunately, she appears to have been banned for incivil behaviour. There is a 4-country map available (US + Canada + Mexico + Greenland) File:North America - First level political divisions.svg that doesn't have divisions at all. I think you could ask User:Allstrak, s/he seems particularly competent with maps, and created the map used in the Subdivisions of Greenland article. 70.29.210.174 ( talk) 06:45, 10 June 2009 (UTC) reply

El Salvador

There's a map of El Salvador available ( File:H1N1 El Salvador Map.svg ) ... but we don't have a section on El Salvador... 70.29.212.226 ( talk) 08:58, 13 June 2009 (UTC) reply

Central America / Belize

Looks like the only Central American country without a map is Belize... 70.29.212.226 ( talk) 09:11, 13 June 2009 (UTC) reply

Maps of Honduras

There seems to be a disagreement at Spanish Wikipedia over which image to use, both the SVG and PNG images are used, and updated, out of sequence with one another... which should we use here? 70.29.212.226 ( talk) 13:53, 13 June 2009 (UTC) reply

It's been settled, the SVG version will be used. 70.29.212.226 ( talk) 08:59, 23 June 2009 (UTC) reply

Rename article?

This article is horribly outdated and repetitive of the articles on the US, Canada, and Mexico. The hype around H1N1 has resulted in far more articles on the subject than people can maintain. Should this article be renamed "2009 Flu Pandemic in Central America and the Carribean" and the parts on the US, Canada, and Mexico removed? Or possibly these countries articles should be merged into this one. 66.183.132.33 ( talk) 04:42, 6 November 2009 (UTC) reply
