Source inquiry for alleged iranian involvement

Can a source be given for alleged Iranian support against Daoud Khan of the friendly Barakzai Dynasty in favour of Islamist Rebels who would later overthrow the Shah? Highly unlikely. 49.184.18.237 ( talk) 07:57, 11 July 2023 (UTC) reply

The Shah of Iran's SAVAK had a history of doing covert activities in Afghanistan at the time against then President Daoud Khan. Daoud was too close to the Soviets thus the Shah could not care if he was backing Islamists, as long as he wasn't backing Communists that's all that mattered. [1] It was only after 1975 Daoud Khan started reapprochement with Pakistan (and the west) which is when Iranian Afghan relations improved and the Shah even offered Daoud Khan 3 Billion Dollars if he recognized the Durand Line, Daoud Khan was suppose to be the Shah in June of 1978 and even Jimmy Carter in September of 1978 but as we know he got overthrown in April during the Saur Revolution. Result of the event

@ Noorullah21 As you reverted my edit back stating the reason its nowhere written as Pakistani political victory, thats however not true.

If we look why did pakistani Prime minister bhutto stage such a uprising against daud khan in the first place was to put an to the policy of funding proxies and insurgents in pakistan for pashtun sepratism by daud khan, As stopping daud khan from funding proxies was the goal of Pakistani PM bhutto. The uprising however was supressed resulting in afghan Millitary victory. but this certain event made daud khan realise that a Friendly Pakistan and Iran were better in his country interest. There fore he stopped funding Millitants after a state vist to pakistan and other countries as well. which cooled down the tensions between pakistan.

hence this resulted in pakistani political victory as pakistan politically persuaded daud khan to refrain from his anti-pakistan stance.

Hi, but your source does not mention any form of political victory. You need to have a reliable source that clearly states it was a political victory for such. Noorullah ( talk) 20:33, 14 January 2024 (UTC) reply
If the uprising itself resulted in pakistan's objectives of the uprising being achived it does make it a political victory. After all pakistan Pm wanted to quell insugencies and proxies and daud khan as a result of this uprising refrains from such activities indirectly makes it Political gain or victory. If political victory isnt stated however it does not mean its not political victory. Rahim231 ( talk) 10:23, 15 January 2024 (UTC) reply
I’m sorry but that signifies WP:OR, you need a source that definitely states the result. Noorullah ( talk) 15:25, 15 January 2024 (UTC) reply
