Nothing about the building is notable. The events that happened there are. —  Malik Shabazz  Talk/ Stalk 04:23, 13 March 2017 (UTC) reply

  • Oppose building was central to two separate events: 1973 Hanafi Muslim massacre and 1977 Washington, D.C. attack and hostage taking. Substantive coverage of building exists in relationship to both (books and journal articles), plus coverage of building in the context of the neighborhood generated by the heavily armed militants living inside and patrolling the grounds in what has always been a quiet neighborhood of green lawns and comfortable homes - except for this one building. Presently usefully linked form several articles. E.M.Gregory ( talk) 11:53, 3 December 2017 (UTC) reply
    • There are many sources that mention the building, but none about the building have been cited. That means the building doesn't satisfy our guideline to qualify for its own encyclopedia article. —  MShabazz  Talk/ Stalk 18:22, 3 December 2017 (UTC) reply
      • There is WP:SIGCOV in several of the sources now on the page. Also news articles about previous owners of the house. E.M.Gregory ( talk) 00:31, 4 December 2017 (UTC) reply
        • Actually, there is zero coverage. The sources are all articles about other subjects that mention the house. Are there any sources about the house? Not its owners, not the neighborhood, not the murders or the hostage-taking, but the building itself? If not, it doesn't satisfy WP:NGEO, no matter how many times you assert that it does. —  Malik Shabazz  Talk/ Stalk 00:58, 4 December 2017 (UTC) reply
  • No matter how many times you repeat your opinion, the fact remains that the historic significance of this house is sourced to WP:INDEPTH is articles and a book chapter'; a place does not have to be the sole topic of a source as long as it contains SIGCOV. E.M.Gregory ( talk) 02:02, 4 December 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Support - True, a place doesn't need to be the main topic of a body of work but it actually needs to be a topic. A good case has been made for indepth sources related to incidents that just so happened to take place in and around the building but notability is not inherited to everything in those said incidents. Malik Shabazz made a crucial point with this: "The sources are all articles about other subjects that mention the house. Are there any sources about the house?" If we look honestly at the sources, the answer is a definitive no. TheGracefulSlick ( talk) 06:24, 4 December 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Note that merging would be disfuncitonal because multiple notable events, persons and pages usefully link to this page, including: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar , 1977 Washington, D.C. attack and hostage taking, 1973 Hanafi Muslim massacre, Mosque No. 12 and Shepherd Park. E.M.Gregory ( talk) 20:27, 4 December 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Oppose - Per ongoing AfD discussion. Decide, either close this or the AfD discussion. WP:GNG applies here anyway, plus extensive sourcing. BabbaQ ( talk) 09:43, 5 December 2017 (UTC) reply
  • Closing this since AfD closed as Keep. E.M.Gregory ( talk) 12:52, 13 December 2017 (UTC) reply
