mia consalvo's word isn't law and should be removed
I don't know who this lady is or who she thinks she is but she shouldnt be used in this section. She clearly has no idea what shes talking about, going as far as to say homosexuals wont like Zidane because hes infeminite and gets a girl. Seriously, wikipedia is going to allow this BS to stick? This wench believes that all gamers play a game for the purpose of putting themself in the shoes of the main character. Wtf is that? Story-driven games are about the characters and story not the gamer. To re-itterate this stupid skank clearly got some crummy degree and thinks she can bastardise the gaming industry with it, and if her filth isnt removed from this article the I'll do it myself. — Preceding

He was named Zidane in the English releases, and this is the English Wikipedia. Feel free to create these alternatives as redirects, however per
WP:ENGLISH we stick to the English names for the main article. --

Also, is the pronunciation /ziːˈdɑːn/ confirmed in official sources? Since in his Japanese name both vowels are short, one would expect /zɪˈdæn/.

How long it took Zidane to return
Can someone fin a legit reference about exactly when did Zidane return?
I undid the redirect (not sure why it happened in the first place, couldn't find any consensus discussion on that), rewrote some sections on the article, added whatever new sources I could find. Although I could see that Tintor has been very helpful at organizing viewpoints and perspectives in a more coherent manner compared to me. But yes, I'd be happy for you to nominate this article as a GA candidate.

I think that would be cool, since we are doing a drive at Wikiproject Square Enix to get to 100 Good Final Fantasy articles and this would be one of them (only 5-6 to go!).
