... is the widely recognized spelling, supported by such major English-language reference publications as the
Encyclopaedia Judaica, the
Encyclopaedia of the Holocaust, and publications of his works in the USA. Both his native
Yiddish and adopted
Hebrew are not written in Latin letters. Furthermore, the
Polish spelling in the
English-language Wikipedia can hardly be appropriate for an individual whose identity was primarily
Jewish rather than Polish, and who from his youth was involved in
Zionist activism, helped many hundreds of Polish Jews to leave and encouraged thousands more. I intend to perform a Move to Rename, as soon as I can confirm the appropriate mechanism since this article had a previous name change (with no supportive justification provided) and I don't want to lose any information from previous edits. --
