Misleading title
The piece appears to be predominantly concerned with women's contribution to the arts of
Bengal or perhaps more precisely
East Bengal through history. Although the territory has been called
Bangladesh for almost 50 years, the text relates also to the time before the present state came into being. The title should perhaps be changed better to reflect the
appurtenance of the people described here.--
