"Adults who have earned the Arrow of Light are entitled to wear a knot on their uniform. This is the only award from Cub Scouting that is still worn on uniforms at the Boy Scout and Adult level." Is is not true any more that Cubs who earn their religious emblem can wear the corresponding square knot patch on their scout and adult uniform? GUllman 23:46, 28 October 2005 (UTC) reply

IIRC, most, if not all, religious awards have a cub and a scouting version, and many of the religious awards cannot be earned while a cub scout. That being said, if a cub earned his religious award as a cub, he could wear it as a youth and an adult. However, this award isn't limited to cub scouting, which is why I feel it should not be listed in the article ArrowmanCoder 23:51, 29 October 2005 (UTC) reply
Well, it's a question of the interpretation of the phrase "from Cub Scouting". The quote does appear to be taken word for word from the Virtual Cub Leader's Handbook. But, although the religious emblems are given by the various religions, so they don't actually "come from" the Cub Scouts of America, ... they can be earned while a Cub Scout, the award may be worn on the Cub uniform, and they have a corresponding knot patch for the adult uniform. So that's why I would tell people the religious emblem knot and the Arrow of Light knot that I wore as an adult were both "from Cub Scouting". GUllman 03:49, 8 November 2005 (UTC) reply
IIRC, the recruiter patch when earned as a cub may be worn into Boy Scouting. With this and the religious award, I have revised by opinion and have reverted the article to reflect that. ArrowmanCoder 22:55, 17 December 2005 (UTC) reply

Merger proposal

  • Favor-this article has the vast bulk of information, and the other article has the more specific title and graphics-both would benefit from a merge. Chris 23:54, 6 January 2006 (UTC) reply
  • 'Agree: merge as noted. -- Gadget850 ( Ed) 23:54, 25 January 2006 (UTC) reply

Since there appears to be no further discussion, I am going to merge the contents of this article with Webelos rank (Cub Scouts (Boy Scouts of America)) and turn this into a redirect page. -- Gadget850 ( Ed) 19:01, 29 January 2006 (UTC) reply

Article merged. Removed the Scouting project tag and noted this talk page on Talk:Webelos rank (Cub Scouts (Boy Scouts of America))

No longer a redirect
