Would it be possible to provide an opening sentence/paragraph to describe in simpler terms what the weak charge is?

There is absolutely no mention in that link of the weak charge. It just rehashes standard weak interactions. The weak charge is a highly technical footnote to the articles on the
Weak Interaction, (or Weak Force), and wa rightly banished in this stub to not distract and defocus attention.
