Phillips apparently played football in college. Even though Phillips is obese today, he must have been in sufficiently good shape long ago to perform military service. How, then, did he avoid serving in Vietnam with the 3 million other American boys who served?
College Deferment. And there was a lottery system for the draft, so after college he may have just not had his number picked. Johnelwayrules ( talk) 22:14, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
The Cowboys haven't made any announcements and you are already saying he is the head coach? Im sitting in Dallas listening to the Cowboys radio station @ 3:43pm, and the press conference isnt until 5:00pm.
There has got to be some kind of error in this page.
It says he was the Denver coach for only one year in both the article and the list of coaching tenures on the right. However it also lists his record as the Denver coach as 16-16 and in the table of records I have seen on ESPN for each year as head coach it shows 2 years as coach of Denver. I do not know which entries are correct I just noticed the errors.

I'm sorry, but the new sections being added analying the coach and his releationships to players or other coaches are simply not appropriate for a bio article. That is not wat we do here, even assuming that every line is sourced properly - which it wasn't. That kind of info belongs on the blogs or sprots programs it is taken from in the first place. Thanks. - BillCJ ( talk) 20:50, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Wade Phillips correct name is Harold Wade Phillips not Wade Allen Phillips. Andreacowboyfan ( talk) 16:21, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

There's at least one reliable source for the Cowboys firing: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/11/08/sportsline/main7034871.shtml I suspect more are on the way...Yahoo and ESPN have both picked up the story... Bobby Tables ( talk) 20:16, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
