Proposal for merge
The term Urda in several language (Bulgarian, Serbian, Macedonina, Romanian) and some dialects in Balkans means curd. Just can be made section in article
Curd.
For example
My reservation with this suggestion is that the article describes Urdă as a cheese made from whey, which is a by-product of curd production, rather than a curd in its own right. If it needs to be merged with another article on account of its brevity, might I suggest
Ricotta which is another whey cheese?
Poltair (

Urda (Curd) is milk product (cheeselike, not exactly cheese) obtained by curdling or whey (from that depends fat %) with acid or by heating to a high temperature аnd after coagulating and then draining off the liquid portion. It can stay as a special brand of curd from Balkans but must make some relinks from bg. sr. hu. mk. wikipedia to here ;) --

Ricotta sounds like a better idea. Curd is made by coagulating milk. Urda seems to be made out of whey.
Ableci (

The problem with this merge is that Ricotta is a specific regional whey cheese from Italy just as Urdă is a specific regional whey cheese from the Balkans. Urdă is not Ricotta, but they are both whey cheeses. Either we merge them both into a single whey cheese article or they should remain distinct. As a precedent, there is an article on
Blue_cheese and there are also numerous articles on specific regional blue cheeses. Whilst the sources in the Urdă article might be somewhat sparse at the moment, it is likely that has more to do with translation than existence, and that further sources will likely emerge with time and persistence. I oppose the merge.

I've removed the merger proposal from this page, because the proponents of the merger have not responded to Poltair's and my arguments against a merger. Because the last comments were made several months ago, I think it's safe to remove the merger proposal now. Also note that I've started an article on
whey cheese. --

Just a note, in Bulgarian извара is definitely not what is shown on the picture in this article. It's a form or quark, or maybe curd (though this is too general). Also, I have never heard of урда - it may be a strictly regional thinf.

Urdă should be included in Ricotta
Urdă is a generic type of whey cheese with roughly the same production procedure as
Ricotta. The variations are more linked with the diffent milk quality.
Ableci (

I disagree for the reasons stated in the previous section. Also I'd like to add that in
ricotta, more differences between ricotta and urdă are emphasized than you mention. --

Article name should be Urda
Right now, the Romanian spelling is used specifically, even though it's a word that exists in multiple languages in various forms. We should move it to a more "international" title without the ă (a spelling which actually exits in some languages). -
