im one of these people its decribing and hill billy is sometimes used. 99.164.38.144 ( talk) 21:50, 20 September 2010 (UTC) speaking of baltimore that would be interesting to know casue im a urban appalacian and baltimore in the late 1600's was a port of entry of some of my people. and they lived there well into the 1700's before leaving and moving into westvirgina to be the first white settlers in west virgina. 99.164.108.120 ( talk) 15:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't know how to edit this, but I think it should list "Knoxville, TN" as opposed to just "Knoxville" (because it lists Charleston, WV). Also, with too many commas (especially as written now) it's confusing. I recommend separating the city/states with semicolons.
Urban Appalachians are also diverse in terms of the kind of places they lived in before migration. Many came from coal camps in the Cumberland Plateau or Allegheny Mountains. Others came from cities (rural people may moved into them) such as Knoxville; Charleston, West Virginia; the Huntington-Ashland area; or Pittsburgh. Most, however, came from a rural area or small town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.107.240.37 ( talk) 13:30, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
Hello! I am planning on making some edits to this article. I wanted to let anyone that may be involved with this article to be aware. I also wanted to let you all know that I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas that anyone may have! The topic of Native Americans in Appalachia was briefly mentioned in this article, it really interests me, and I would like to explore this topic a little more. I am starting the editing in my Sandbox if anyone wants to leave suggestions that would be greatly appreciated!
