Hmm, is it worth saying that Durden is the protagonist's Optimal Persona (defs: [1], [2])? The term seems to capture his role perfectly, but it's such a fringe term we'd probably VfD it if someone actually wrote it. Thoughts? -- Finlay McWalter 23:55, 20 Dec 2003 (UTC)
