Tubelight would not be counted as historical film as it is set in fictional account of 1962 Indo-China War. I had retain the period genre. Any doubt then ping here. SuperHero ● 👊 ● ★ 12:53, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

In pre-independence India, Laxman Singh Bisht ( Salman Khan) is a special child who is bullied at school and called "Tubelight". His younger brother Bharat ( Sohail Khan) defends him from bullies like Narayan ( Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) and beats them. After independence, Laxman and Bharat's parents pass away and as they grow up their bond gets stronger. In 1962, due to the increasing tension between India and China, the Indian army starts recruitment of soldiers for the Kumaon Regiment. Bharat gets selected as a soldier but Laxman gets rejected. . Narayan is rejected because of knock knees. To keep Laxman happy, Bharat pleads Major Rajbir Tokas ( Yashpal Sharma) to offer him a job as an informer/messenger for army.
A magician known as Gogo Pasha ( Shah Rukh Khan) visits the village and selects Laxman for one of his acts to move a bottle using faith. After some attempts Laxman succeeds even as Narayan tries to tease him. Laxman demonstrtes the same thing to Banne Chacha ( Om Puri) who them explains him the power of faith and how to make his faith stronger. Next day, Laxman observes an Indo-Chinese women, "Le Leing" ( Zhu Zhu) and her son "Gu Won" ( Matin Rey Tangu) arriving to a house outside the village. He informs the village of the arrival of the Chinese who then, led by Narayan, try to attack them. Banne Chacha gets angry about this and advises Laxman to follow Gandhi ji and befriend them. Meanwhile, Bharat gets injured and is set to return but he and some other soldiers gets captured by the Chinese forces. Laxman, who is now friends with Gu, saves him from Narayan, who tries to attack him because of his Chinese heritage. Narayan tries to convince Laxman not to befriend these Chinese people or he will lose Bharat forever. Leing intervenes and explains to Narayan that she and Gu are Indians.
As the war continues, the martyrs are brought back. Major Tokas tells Laxman that Bharat's name is not in the list. After the war stops, the whole village celebrates expecting the return of Bharat. Leing's father, who was in jail is set free and returns to the village. After a few days, Major Tokas informs that Bharat was killed in a crossfire. Laxman is shattered and the village erects a shrine to honor all the martyrs. Next day, as Leing and Gu bid farewell to return to Calcutta, they receive the news that Bharat is still alive and there was some confusion in the identification process. Banne, Gu and Leing accompany Laxman to the army medical camp where the two brothers reunite. Harsh Sharma 19:15, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
