Equipment section

This section is just an unsourced miscellaneous list of items which are not even standardised - servers can change these things as much as they want. I put a short summary of some usual items available to traitors and detectives in the Gameplay section, and I think that should be enough (that needs a source too, really). If nobody objects soon, I'm just going to delete the Equipment section entirely. It kinda makes the article a mess. Microphonics talk 00:59, 23 July 2013 (UTC) reply

"this is an alias"

Is it really required to say that Bad King Urgrain is an alias? I would've thought it was pretty obvious that it isn't a real name. Best shit 2012 12:50, 23 July 2013 (UTC) reply

Well, it's just for clarification – there isn't really anywhere else to put it. Some people have odd legal names. Microphonics talk 12:54, 23 July 2013 (UTC) reply
On second thought, while I was cleaning up the article again today, I removed the "this is an alias" thing. Someone had changed it to "real name unknown" unnecessarily anyway. Microphonics talk 17:22, 12 September 2013 (UTC) reply

Unnecessary, unsourced detail

The last half (everything after the first two paragraphs) of the Gameplay section is in unnecessary detail. None of it is sourced, and I doubt it's possible to find reliable sources for stuff like this. Thoughts? -- Pingumeister( talk) 21:17, 1 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Hey there, I think a lot of links in this article are totally irrelevant to the gamemode and the article itself. Linking to pages like "Traitor" "Innocent" or "Defusal Kit" is really pointless. Please reconsider it. 84.10.187.82 ( talk) 13:29, 18 April 2015 (UTC) reply

Redirect

There seems to be a difference of opinions here regarding whether this page should redirect to Garry's Mod or not because "the present versions fails numerous guidelines and has no place in mainspace." I've played this game since it came out and trust me, the sources I put are the most reliable for the subject at hand. Bad King is the creator of the game so his website IS a reliable source. Similarly, the TTT Wikia page is reliable when addressing what the community tends to think or agree upon because it is a community based forum. FOr the things we are writing, these are valid sources since they illustrate the points being made. Finally, the argument that the game is "not notable," is absurd and anybody who actually plays this game will recognize it as such, especially since there are now versions of TTT in Roblox and CSGO. I'm going to continue to improve this page and if this is going to be a persistent problem, I will have to insist on getting a moderator here, because it is only one or two people who actually want this redirect. As I have stated previously, this topic, by our guidelines, is not notable. This means that it has not received sufficient coverage in reliable independent sources to write a full article without the use of primary or unreliable sources, or original research. If you look at the previous revision, its references consist primarily of user-generated content in the form of Wikia articles, a Reddit post, and a user-made Roblox game mode. Then there are two sources linking to the developer's website, and finally two independent reliable sources. However, both of these reliable sources were written by the same author. This clearly does not constitute notability. As I said, you could feel free to create a draft that addresses these issues and then try to have it approved by an independent third party. Unilaterally re-creating this article three times with no improvement on this front is not the way to go. Also pinging the other involved editor, Nikkimaria. Then what other sources would you like? Because most of the information can literally be found in the code of the game. Aside from that, there are no other articles or the like. The redirect is wrong because TTT exists outside of gmod so in reality, this is creating more problems than it’s solving. You can’t possibly claim that a game mode with 1,000+ users daily is “not notable,” because this is a reductio ad absurdum argument. There was plenty of improvement on each revision, and if you want a better source, then mark “better source needed” like every other article.

I shouldn’t have to create a draft of an article that has been up for 8 years and counting. Other people have reverted this redirect beginning in November, and you keep changing it back. I recommend getting a third party in to figure out how to proceed because nothing can be improved like this Wvasiladiotis ( talk) 00:55, 22 January 2020 (UTC) reply

"Better source needed" is for when a minor statement in an otherwise good article is cited with a bad source that could be replaced. In this case, every other sentence would need to be tagged this way and there is no replacement source we could possibly cite them with at this moment. Neither player count (and 1,000+ is not that much, really) nor article age determine notability. This page has fewer than 30 watchers, so there has been no active maintenance before. The only other user fighting this redirect was an anonymous user from Thailand who is presently blocked on account of long-term abusing the site. If you read the guideline I linked, WP:GNG (alternatively, WP:NVG), you will find that what we need is indeed "other articles or the like", which we do not have at this time. If really necessary, we can take this to Articles for Deletion, which I assume will lead to the same outcome. Lordtobi ( ) 12:25, 22 January 2020 (UTC) reply
