Though I can't speak to current practice, as a former daily Wairarapa Connection commuter of 9 years, I have personally observed the occasional DFT-hauled Wairarapa Connection train. Proportionally, however, this was quite rare, as DFT locomotives are better utilised to haul freight trains. Use of DX locomotives was certainly not uncommon, but the DC class was definitely the primary motive power for the service. – Matthew25187 ( talk) 06:16, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
