Identical meanings?

Is it just me, or is the current wording on this page for both Transgender and Transsexualism pretty much identical? Or is there a difference between one’s “gender identity” and one’s “[identifying] with a gender”? — Frungi ( talk) 05:29, 15 November 2013 (UTC) reply

I’ve edited it in an attempt to differentiate between them, since there didn’t seem to be much differentiation. This is my understanding: Transgender is an umbrella term that includes transsexuals. Transgenders don’t identify with the gender matching their biological sex, and may or may not identify with any gender; transsexuals are transgenders who identify with a specific gender which does not match their biological sex. Is this right? — Frungi ( talk) 06:00, 16 November 2013 (UTC) reply
